Felicia held her first event, releasing the title of her book “Through the Fire” through a VIP launching ceremony this past weekend. Released during Black History Month, the book takes time to reflect upon those who have paid such a high price in the struggle for many of the rights and privileges we enjoy today. Yes, while there is still a long way to go, without a doubt, Martin Luther King Jr.’s dream is being realized more and more with each passing year.
Thus far, we have confirmed Spencer Leak Sr. of Leak and Sons Funeral Home as a guest speaker. In addition, we have invited members of both the City of Chicago Fire & Police Department and other Civic Leaders or their representatives of surrounding cities and villages. We also have taken this privilege to invite all friends from the press and media.
This event partnered with several Fire and Police Departments and utilized the opportunity to educate the 200 anticipated attendees about fire and community safety.
Through The Fire, Book Launch Celebration was a means to promote safety tips that often come up during the cold weather months.
